Jeni Stanley was a beloved teacher at Caln Elementary for several years. She had a significant impact on "her kids" and everyone around her. She was diagnosed with Neuroendocrine (NET) cancer, a rare disease, on 8/12/12. Jeni fought with grace, positivity and humor; all while spreading awareness and with a continued dedication to helping others. She earned her angel wings on 5/31/15.

In medical school, students are taught that when they hear hoof beats they should think horses, not zebras. In other words, look for the common and not the uncommon or rare. The zebra is our way of reminding doctors that the uncommon exists and should not be overlooked. For this reason, the awareness ribbon for NET cancer is zebra print.
